Rematec Amsterdam: A Family Gathering for the Remanufacturing World
From 8–10 April 2025 in Amsterdam, Rematec brought together familiar faces and new connections in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This year’s edition delivered not only insights into the future of reman, but also meaningful exchange among peers who truly understand the industry. From the dynamic discussions in the Rematec Congress to the lively, interactive sessions at the showfloor Theatre, knowledge and ideas that flowed freely. Across a vibrant showfloor, exhibitors from around the globe showcased cutting-edge innovations, solutions, and services shaping the future of reman. With eye-catching stands, hands-on demonstrations, and countless conversations, the atmosphere was electric. Rematec 2025 wasn’t just an event — it was a true family reunion for the global remanufacturing community.
“Remanufacturing is a key part of the circular economy, and it’s very important for us to be here,” said Alain Nay of Mobilians. “We represent about 50 remanufacturing members in France and are focused on growing that number. We intend to develop that because we need more and more parts from the circular economy and remanufacturing is helping very much to develop this growing activity."
"As a founding partner of Rematec, APRA is proud to see the event continue to grow and evolve alongside our industry. This year’s edition was especially inspiring, as we saw a strong representation of our members and others in the remanufacturing community actively engaging and shaping the future of the sector. " says Michael Haumann, Executive Officer of APRA Europe. "The quality and quantity of both visitors and exhibitors are strong indicators of the industry’s ongoing transformation. We are excited for the future and look forward to seeing our members continue to lead innovation and sustainability in remanufacturing as we prepare for the next Rematec events in Asia and Amsterdam."
Kim Buitelaar – Wollenberg, Exhibition Manager of Rematec, reflects on the event's conclusion: "As we bring this year’s event to a close, we are proud to reflect on the industry innovations, partnerships, and discussions that have shaped the future of the remanufacturing sector. It has been a true privilege to connect with so many forward-thinking professionals, all committed to driving sustainability and circularity in mobility. We extend our gratitude to our exhibitors, speakers, and attendees for their invaluable contributions — and in particular, we are especially grateful to our academic partners. We look forward to continuing these conversations beyond the event."
Turning research into practical industry solutions
The RMTC Congress brought together a dynamic mix of experts and entrepreneurs, sharing insights and engaging in lively discussions on rethinking business models and circular design. Sessions on robotics and automation, EV charging, and data sharing sparked the most interaction, highlighting the industry’s focus on innovation. The event also recognized the growing importance of collaboration with academic institutions, which play a pivotal role in driving research and development within the remanufacturing sector.
Hot topics on the floor: EVs & Battery remanufacturing
The most exciting developments shaping the future of remanufacturing were discussed at Rematec — from the rising influence of core dealers to the emergence of remaker OEMs. The Battery Journey took attendees deep into the world of lithium-ion battery recycling, repair, and second-life applications, with expert insights on everything from battery housing to sustainable engineering. Visitors explored the growing trend of micromobility and experienced the future of eco-friendly transport in the ECO Circular Cars, featuring innovative circular ECO cars like TU Delft’s hydrogen-powered cars and TU Eindhoven’s Phoenix, built from 75% recycled materials. From groundbreaking ideas to hands-on demonstrations, the event program proved that the future of remanufacturing is not just happening — it’s defining what comes next.
