Rethinking manufacturing in India and transitioning to a Circular Economy

Re:CREATe hosts a webinar on Remanufacturing and Circular Economy on 23 September 2020. It aims to have the delegates rethink manufacturing in India.

The objective of this webinar is to bring visibility to the tremendous untapped potential of remanufacturing in India and how it can one of the many pathways available to India in it’s transition to a circular economy, says Rajiv Ramchandra, founder and director of Re:CREATe. He continues: ‘It also seeks to sensitise and raise the awareness levels of various stakeholders in relation to remanufacturing, including the public and private sectors, policy makers, and the investment community.”

This webinar is the first in a series and will establish the foundational understanding of what remanufacturing is, and how it relates to the circular economy journey in India. Subsequent webinars will engage in industry-specific discussions such as how remanufacturing relates to the automotive industry, the electrical and electronics industry, the role of Industry 4.0 in remanufacturing, and so on.

Future plans
Following this, and future webinars, Re:CREATe is planning to host invitation-based roundtable discussions with industry leaders, policy makers, and other pertinent stakeholders on how remanufacturing can be further catalysed in the nation by identifying opportunities and barriers as well as next steps that are needed such as research studies and industry analyses. Many of these discussions and stakeholder relationships aim to contribute towards the development of a remanufacturing industry roadmap for specific sectors in India, which will be spearheaded by Re:CREATe.
