ReMaTec 2019 looks beyond today towards the challenges – and opportunities - of tomorrow
For ReMaTec 2019 in Amsterdam this June, we have created a programme that looks beyond today’s industry and focuses on the challenges - and opportunities - of tomorrow. The automotive industry is in rapid transformation; at no time in the past have developments taken place at such a rapid pace as they do today. Autonomous (driverless) cars, electrification, shared mobility - these are much more than just buzzwords. Vehicles are becoming more and more sophisticated with intelligent driving systems and alternative drivetrains.
With this in mind, in his keynote speech at ReMaTec 2019, PwC Autofacts global lead analyst Christoph Stürmer will present the PwC report ‘5 Trends That Will Transform The Automotive Industry’. It will be fascinating to see what he has to say.
Alternative drivetrains is a hot topic in many boardrooms. What will the future be? Combustion, hybrid, electrified, fuel cell? Mahle Aftermarket has a clear vision of how the automotive industry will develop in different markets across various regions and will present its vision in another keynote.
Meanwhile, reverse logistics is instrumental to each remanufacturing process. Daimler Trucks North America and technology partner Filament have developed a blockchain project which enhances their core management, providing clarity down the supply chain and reducing the transaction cost of deposits. It is an innovative approach.
The shift from independent reman to contract reman cannot be neglected: this business model gives access to in-depth product information, takes away many core return burdens and delivers solid business. ReMaTec will attract the largest vehicle manufacturers as visitors to the show floor, looking for new partnerships in reman. Encory’s Hanno Grosseschmidt will explain what it takes to operate reman programmes for BMW Group at one of our ‘Meet the Expert’ sessions. We successfully launched these at ReMaTec in 2017 and they are back by popular demand.
One more thing: in many ways, ReMaTec this year will be what it always has been – a valuable forum for remanufacturers to demonstrate their products, make connections, find innovations and celebrate what’s best about our brilliant industry. But this year, we think there is even more to see: reman is moving into the mainstream as a key part of the circular economy. This is our 10th edition – here’s to 10 more.
